John, I love all your daily sketches! You should save them all and show in your portfolio. As someone else mentioned, I could see sketches like these illustrating a book of poetry... or spot illustrations for a magazine like The New Yorker.
New Yorker, now that's a thought Marilee, an editor recommended the same thing recently. I admit there is a purpose to my doodling, I'm actively trying to push myself forwards, doodling helps me explore new areas, and gives me potential material for future exhibition work. I'd really like to develop some of these into stories, though many of them are stand-alone pieces.
I love the energy in the mane, John! This one looks like a great springboard for a story.

I particularly like this one John. What type of pen are you using for these?
It's a Pilot Hi-Tec-C, 0.4 or 0.5 Stephen. You can get them in the West I think but I tend to stock up when I go to Tokyo, sometimes I can find them discounted.
